Description
The Frederick Rescue Mission accepts donations including food, clothing, and other items to bless men, women, and children in the community who have a need. For information on item requirements, click the links above.
When you donate gently used coats, clothing, shoes, and other small items like sleeping bags or linens to the Mission’s Rescued Treasures program, those items are then given away to the men of our Changed Life Recovery Program, the women and children of Faith House or those who are homeless or in need. Through our Rescued Treasures Program last year, we were able to fill 6,417 requests for clothing.
Those items that are donated, but well used, are taken to our storage facility and eventually sold by weight to distributors who ship them to countries overseas who need them. All proceeds from these sales are funneled back into the Mission and are used to fund the many programs we offer. The Mission is privately funded so we carefully utilize every donation from the community to operate our programs and services.
If you would like to donate to the Rescued Treasures program, you can drop clothing and shoes at our office located at 419 West South Street — P.O. Box 3389, Monday through Friday (8 am – 5 pm) in our front lobby or Saturday (9am – 4pm) in our left side lobby. If a receipt is not needed, we have 15 blue bins, located strategically throughout Frederick County, where you can drop donations. Our bins are identified easily by the bright blue color and Mission’s lighthouse logo.
