Mind-body camps offered throughout the month of July for kids ages 4-12 run by pediatric occupational therapist and kids' yoga instructor. Camp themes include Nature Kids, Yoga Warriors, Fairies and Folklore and more!

A “katydid” is an insect that easily disguises itself as a leaf. The mission of Katiedyd 4 Kids is to “disguise” the very best kind of hands on learning as play, integrating mind and body together. This is not the kind of play many of our kids are accustomed to these days, but rather the kind that helped to grow and develop their parents, grandparents and even more distant ancestors. With the advent of technology, homework and over-scheduling, many kids miss out on the basic elements of play that develop their sense of imagination, gross and fine motor skills, and even most basic sense of self in relation to the world and to each other. Camps will include outdoor nature activities, yoga, crafts, good "old-fashioned" play, and group activities designed to develop gross and fine motor skills, sensory processing skills, mindfulness. Kids will experience hands-on learning at its best! Lunch bunch is available as an add-on. Full, half-day and extended activities are offered; limited spots available- early registration is recommended!

"I have my Masters of Occupational Therapy degree and work as a school-based occupational therapist during the school year. I have been an OT for 16 years and have experience in diverse settings including schools, early intervention in the home, outpatient pediatrics, home health, hospitals, and nursing homes. I have worked in several pediatric OT summer camps over the years and have enjoyed using my skills to have fun with kids in more informal ways. I am certified in kids yoga through YogaFit and Childlight Yoga, and have taken additional yoga courses related to OT. I have 3 children of my own and look forward to including them in my summer camp program!"  - Katie
