Breakfast Perfection at Bright Morning Inn

April 1, 2019

Warning: do not read any further if you are the least bit hungry.

If there’s ever a meal, I don’t understand how people skip, it’s breakfast. A good breakfast sets the pace for the day. A few weeks ago while my college girlfriends and I were having some winter fun at Canaan Valley Resort we traveled to the nearby town of Davis specifically to have breakfast at Bright Morning Inn.

A few weeks before our trip I was researching restaurants and Bright Morning Inn kept appearing in reviews as the ‘not to be missed’ breakfast spot. After eating there, I can see why!

The restaurant is open to the public and guests of the inn. Recently under new ownership, you can see the attention to detail in everything owners Brent Markwood and Henry Williams do to make you sure you enjoy every element of your meal in their comfortable, home-ish feeling dining room. There’s no better place to settle in with a cup of coffee and a plate full of food.

Every item on their menu is cooked to order on the spot. I assure you, after one of their hearty breakfasts, you won’t leave you walking away hungry! Bright Morning Inn uses local produce, honey and maple syrup. And the difference is obvious upon the first bite.

After examining the menu a million times and a ton of internal debate, I decided upon the country skillet. When it was placed in front of me, I knew my decision had been the right one. Filled with eggs, potatoes, bacon, cheese, peppers and onions, the smell alone was amazing. The first bite did not disappoint. The skillet came with a country biscuit that was seriously melt in your mouth good. I wish they shipped those!

My friend ordered a stack of the fluffy blueberry pancakes and said they were the best she ever had!

We left with full bellies and ready to take on a day of adventure at Canaan Valley Resort. Do yourself a favor and head to Bright Morning Inn. Your tastebuds will thank you!

My group was hosted in exchange for this review. As always, opinions are 100% my own.
