Girls' Night Out at Escape This Frederick

Macaroni Kid Review

By Amy Ghiglieri, Publisher March 31, 2019

It's no secret that grown ups, specifically parents, don't get to have a lot of fun that is our own. We enjoy watching our kids have fun. We love having family fun at events and playgrounds. But what about time away from our kids? It's important, and I found my new favorite place to have my own grown up fun!

My girlfriends and I needed some time away from home after weeks of sick kids. So we headed out this past Friday night to Escape this Frederick for a mental challenge and some kid-less entertainment!

We were greeted by an awesome employee who showed us around, thoroughly explained the process to us, then locked us in one of their newest rooms, Mad Lab, to start the challenge and try to escape. Each clue brought a different puzzle, and it felt so good to use our critical thinking and problem solving skills in a new, exciting, vibrant environment!

I am dying to go into more detail about our specific Mad Lab experience, but I can't ruin the surprise! The idea is that you are in a biochemical lab and the city of Frederick is in grave danger. A biochemist has gone mad and created a biochemical bomb. You have 60 minutes to find and defuse the bomb to save Frederick.

The Mad Lab room was incredibly detailed, with fun yet challenging puzzles, and full of suspense. While I can't share photos of the room itself, I can assure you it’s a top notch production of an escape room!

Escape this Frederick has five escape rooms that provide awesome entertainment and change often so you never run out of puzzles and mysteries to solve. It’s the perfect unique experience for a mom's night out, date night, corporate team building exercise or a family fun outing!

Conveniently located near several great restaurants, Escape This Frederick is located in the perfect spot for a whole night of entertainment. Reservations can be made easily in advance online.

I was provided with an escape room experience in exchange for my review. As always, opinions are 100% my own.
