Something for everyone age 3-adult this summer at Metropolitan Ballet Theatre and Academy! Join us June 17th – August 30th for summer dance camps, ballet intensives, and weekly classes. Learn a new dance style or continue your training with offerings in Ballet, Pointe, Creative Movement, Early Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, and more!
Metropolitan Ballet Theatre & Academy (MBT) has been offering summer dance programs for decades! Currently in their 30th year, they are thrilled to expand offerings at their Gaithersburg location, while hosting their first summer at their new Clarksburg location. MBT has summer dance options for all in the form of dance camps, ballet intensives, and weekly classes.
If you have attended MBT’s summer programs before, you know how exciting their day camps are! New camp offerings this year include Mini Hip Hop Dance Expression (age 4-6 half-day) and My 1st Summer Ballet Intensive (age 6-8 full day). Their popular Hip Hop Workshop has been extended to a full day program and is now called Hip Hop Dance Expression (age 7-11 full day)!
MBT also is continuing some of its favorite camps from prior summers. Young dancers can be introduced to the joy of dance with programs such as Storybook Ballet (age 3-5 half-day) and Once Upon a Ballet (age 4-6 half-day). Each of these camps include at least one dance class per day, learning about ballet or dance stories and themes, imaginative exploration, and age-appropriate crafts and games. They will also include a brief presentation at the end for parents!
For students age 7-11 with little to no experience, check out MBT’s Dance Adventure (full day), Broadway Jazz Dance Workshop (full day), and Intro to Dance for Boys (full day). For the serious young dancer with at least one year prior experience, call to schedule a placement for their Junior Summer Ballet Intensives (age 7-9 or 8-11 full day) and Back to Ballet (age 9-11 full day). These fun camps and intensives explore various styles of dance with multiple classes and activities per day!
MBT also holds their Summer Ballet Intensives (ages 10-18 full day), Week of Ballets (age 12-18 full day), and Ballet Boot Camps (age 11-18 full day) for the pre-professional student striving to continue their training over the summer months. These offerings may include master classes from local or out of area dance professionals, repertory and variations, and lessons in dance conditioning and nutrition.
