Skylanders Academy Season 3 - Now on Netflix!

Macaroni Kid Review

Macaroni Kid Frederick was recently selected to host a viewing party to celebrate the release of Skylanders Academy Season 3 on Netflix.

A lucky group of Mac Kid subscribers and their kids between the ages of 5-10 were invited to the party. Together we spent the morning watching the first episode of Season 3, competing in a Skylanders coloring contest and jumping until we couldn’t jump anymore at Pump It Up of Frederick.

Wondering what all the rage is with Skylanders Academy? I’ll be honest, this event was my first real Skylanders exposure. After a bit of a Netflix binge, I was easily caught up and ready to share the first episode of Season 3 with both current Skylanders fans and newbies. Our event guests were a mix of both.

At the end of Season 2 Spyro, one of the main protagonists and a former ‘good’ guy, was turned evil by the villain Strykore. In the third season, Dark Spyro (the bad version of Spyro) is still working with his old friends, but unbeknownst to them, he is trying to do evil things. All of the Skylanders will need to work together to help Spyro remember his ‘good’ self and to restore peace to the land.

In the first episode of Season 3, the evil Strykore assigns Kaos and Dark Spyro to kidnap King Pen in an attempt to rule the Skylands. I won’t spoil the ending, but I will say the show is intense. Both kids and adults will be captivated by the plot line with the intricately woven relationships and the fight for good to win out over evil. The animation is quite impressive with its vivid colors, interesting character appearances and fast paced turns of events.

With cooler weather coming, it’s the perfect time to find a new family show on Netflix with your ‘big’ kids. Whether you start from the very first episode or jump ahead to Season 3, the good vs. evil plot line of Skylanders Academy is sure to be a hit at your house.

I received compensation and/or products for this party and review. As always, opinions are 100% my own.
