When I think of the things I like about the Kidz Club at OneLife Fitness of North Frederick, my list is long. The experienced and warm staff remains patient and caring every morning. The clean room full of fun activities (from toys, to iPads, to movies, to playground equipment) keeps my youngest so entertained that he barely notices when I come to get him. The easy drop off/pick up process is also thorough - the use of numbering bracelets help keep the kids accounted for and makes it easier for them to find me for a quick diaper change or to soothe a rare meltdown.
Overall the inviting and engaging Kidz Club experience leaves my kids tired and smiling. I’m even more grateful because I get time to myself—up to 2 hours to work out and wash up without rushing. In short, the happy little corner where my children play and amuse themselves continues to be a big part of why I love my membership.
Since I know why I think it is wonderful, I thought I’d share why my oldest child does. Below are my nine year old’s unedited (and relatively unprompted) thoughts on the Kidz Club.
What do you think of the Kidz Club and why? It is cool because you get to play video games.
What do you think your brother thinks about the Kidz Club and why? I think he thinks it is fun because there is playground equipment.
What kind of equipment? There’s a mini trapeze rope swing-type thing. It also has a slide. They have these roller things you can slide through. There’s a tube you can climb in too.
What is your favorite thing to do at the Kidz Club and why? Play video games because it is cool. Evertales is the best because you play an elf a wizard or a knight. There is also a game called Jett where you are fish and you race other fish online. Like Mario Cart but underwater and there is no cart.
What are the people like at the Kidz Club? They are kind. I saw a toddler struggling with a crayon stuck in the package, and the lady pulled it out and helped her get the color she wanted out of the wrapper. They are nice to me too.
What are the other kids like at the Kidz Club? They are cool. They help little kids down the slide.
How do you feel after you’ve been at the Kidz Club? Awesome!!!!!!!!!! Because I get to play and then I get to see you and I’m happy that my brother has fun there.
What should other kids and moms know about the Kidz Club? If they don’t know already it is awesome. The kids are having a great time.
