1. Afternoon Adventures: Little Shoppers Grocery Store

Visit our pretend grocery store! Kids can shop and check out pretend  groceries while practicing counting, sorting, and imaginative play.


2. Take a Closer Look: Behind the Bouquet with Abloom Flowers

Join us for a hands‑on introduction to the world of flowers! Elementary  and Teen participants will learn the basics of caring for  fresh  flowers, including how to keep them healthy, hydrated, and long‑lasting. We’ll also explore the many career paths connected to  flowers—from floral designers and greenhouse growers to botanists and landscape architects.


3. 36th Annual Children's Festival in Baker Park

Over 60 child care centers, preschool programs, and child-related organizations will offer hands-on activities for young children. Every   year, approximately 3,000 participants enjoy the activities, entertainment, and information -- all for free!

4. Love Your Park Week -- Rock Skipping Contest

Loosen up those throwing arms! To close out the annual week-long Love Your Park celebration, the Town will be hosting its annual rock skipping  contest on Saturday, April 25 beginning at 4 p.m. in Prospect Park, 107  Prospect Rd. The event is free and open to all ages. Bring your flat rocks and come test your skills against friends and neighbors. There will be various age categories and multiple prizes,  such as longest skip, longest distance, etc. We hope to see you there!


5. Big Bears with Mark Spurrier, Maryland Park Service

Park Ranger Mark Spurrier shares his experiences with bears in Maryland and reads his picture book, "Big Bears". 

Black bears are the largest land mammal in Maryland. Learn about these native creatures that could literally be in your backyard. Touch a black bear hide, measure yourself against a black bear track mold, explore a bear skull and scat replica.
