Here are Macaroni KID Frederick's picks for the five things to do in Frederick and Mt. Airy with kids this week. Click on the links for all the details!
1. Fri-Yay: Australian Blue Heeler Appreciation Day
You may not want to take advice from a cartoon dog, but trust library staff when we say, this is one program you won't want to miss! Join us for the chance to say hello to a popular and friendly blue cartoon dog and enjoy some fun activities inspired by that friendly dog herself.
Art and science merge in this hands-on science spectacular! Students will be dazzled by chemical reactions, bubble printing experiments, and color explosions to create one-of-a-kind art projects to share with family and friends. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Presented by Big Learning.
3. Tape Town
A project based learning session where little ones can use their individualized creative skills. By using various recycled materials little ones will be able to create an entire town together.
4. Meet The Author: Cordelia Jensen
Calling all young poets: this one is for you! Join us for an afternoon with author Cordelia Jensen as she discusses her new middle grade novel Lilac and the Switchback, with fellow author Laura Shovan. Following the conversation, Cordelia will answer questions and sign books. Copies of Lilac and the Switchback will be available for purchase at the event!
5. Winter STEM With the Snow Thief
Squirrel has never seen snow before. Will he like it? Come find out! Join us for a fun telling of The Snow Thief by Alice Hemming and Nicola Slater. Then participate in wintry hands-on STEM activities.
