Fall Fun at Gaver Farm

Review

October 22, 2016

Located in picturesque Mt. Airy, Gaver Farm is a tradition for families from all over! My kids have been asking for weeks now to go to Gaver Farm and I was more than happy to oblige this week!

Gaver Farm is a beautiful, clean, historic farm with picnic areas, free hayrides to pick your own pumpkins and apples, a Barn Grill and Barn Bakery and (our favorite) a fantastic Fall Fun Festival. The festival runs daily through October 31st and features a corn maze, huge jumping pillow, farm animals to pet and feed and giant slides to zip down. There are over 45 attractions, appropriate for any age including the Cow Train, mini mazes, playgrounds, duck races, ball games, photo centers and so much more!

We arrived at Gaver Farm and spent some time in their barn shop exploring all of the different types of fall produce: apples, pumpkins, gourds, etc. Even just walking through and touching everything entertained my kiddos!

After leaving the barn, we immediately went to the giant jumping pillow. The kid in me was practically giddy as we ditched our shoes and climbed up on the pillow. We had a blast being silly and jumping for a LONG time!

We spent the next few hours exploring everything from the multiple giant slides to the tractors to the play equipment. It was without a doubt non-stop fun for all of us. Some of the highlights for my family included the corn conveyor belt, (plastic) duck races and all of the slides (we seriously couldn’t pick just one slide).

Not only does Gaver Farm offer a million different things to entertain everyone, but they also offer so many educational and teaching moments throughout the farm. Everything from detailed descriptions about how pumpkins grow to learning about different types of animals.

Gaver Farm has 12 different kinds of farm animals to meet, interact with and feed in the farm animal petting area. We loved watching and feeding the goats in their giant rock boulder pen. The bunny house was also a huge hit!

Hayrides are always free at Gaver Farm and run continuously on weekends. You can take a ride around the farm and stop in the fields to pick your own pumpkins and apples.

I cannot recommend Gaver Farm highly enough! We were there for almost three hours and still did not see and do everything so we are headed back next week. Grab your family and head to the Fall Fun Festival at Gaver Farm before it closes for the season on October 31st!
